clinical science > Scottish Clinical Biochemistry MC/DNScottish Clinical Biochemistry Managed Clinical/Diagnostic NetworkThe latest version of the proposal to be put to the Scottish Government Health Department (SGHD) for the formation of a Clinical Biochemistry Network for Scotland is now available to download (below). The document has now been widely and extensively discussed at various forums and through stakeholder organisations: the Scottish ACB, Scottish Senior Clinical Biochemists and the Institute of Biomedical Scientists. This latest version of the proposal document was put together following a meeting of stakeholder representatives at the end of June. The meeting notes for this meeting are also attached for information as they include some of the discussions that took place that further explain some of the decisions made in forming the final proposal document. Overall, the new proposal document is a shorter, much simpler document than before and essentially complies and relates to current SGHD guidance on the formation of managed clinical networks. It was agreed at stakeholder meetings that the final detail regarding membership of the full network committee and eventual function would be an evolutionary process within the first few years of network formation. As such, while the  views within the document represent the consensus opinion of the professions, they are by no means set in tablet and stone, and are thus likely to be modified as the network moves forward. The main thrust of this document is to achieve acceptance and financial support from the SGHD so as to allow things to move forward. Any comments would be welcome and should be sent to Dr Bernie Croal bernie.croal@nhs.net in the first instance. Please reply by 22nd Sept 2008.
